Rachel teaches Ashtanga with a therapeutic approach and is loved worldwide for offering this dynamic practice in a digestible and nurturing format
Formerly a senior teacher at the world reknowned Samahita Retreat Centre
in Thailand. She has studied mainly with Paul Dallaghan, one of the only both to be certified in Ashtanga and Pranayama (with Sri K.Pattabhi Jois and O.P.Tiwariji).
Intensive studies at Samahita have included teacher training in 2005, and continued trainings since then with Paul, O.P.Tiwariji and Richard Freeman refining and deepening her practice and understanding.
Fortunate to have studied with two hugely influential teachers Sri.K.Pattabhi Jois in Mysore and Mukunda Stiles while they were still living. She has also spent time experiencing yogic lifestyle at ashrams in India, New Zealand, Australia and silence meditation at Goenka's Vippassana retreat in Nepal.
Other influences have been Iyengar for precision and form, Hatha for softness and grace, and Structural Yoga Therapy for it's healing aspects. Yet it is an almost daily Ashtanga and Pranayama practice which changed her life
Dedicating 17 years to yoga practice combined with a background in Thai Massage has shaped her understanding of the energetics and structure of the body which she incorporates into giving adjustments, teaching with sensitivity and depth.
After 11 years teaching internationally, she has now settled in Bali and is writing a book on practising ashtanga therapeutically and continues to travel to Europe to share "Ashtanga Yoga Therapy" during the summer months
